In the 1980s, we took to the streets because our community was dying of AIDS while our government sat on its hands. We were ignored, demonized, and treated as disposable. It took people getting LOUD, getting ANGRY, and refusing to disappear before those in power were forced to pay attention. Today, we are once again watching our government target the LGBTQIA+ community and treat our lives, our rights, and our existence as if they are expendable.
We’ve seen this before.
And we know what to do.
We will not be pushed back into the closet. We will not make ourselves smaller to make our haters more comfortable. We will not go quietly disappear. So, wear this shirt as a declaration. Be loud. Be proud. Be visible. Let them know that we are still here, we are not afraid, and we will fight like hell for one another.
